A BINAURAL AUDIO PLAY & INSTALLATION
Originally staged in 2017 as an immersive production, ‘The Three’ is a dark poetic journey into the personal stories and formative memories of Macbeth’s three wyrd sisters. Faced with the choice between resigning themselves to oppressive systems or overthrowing them, theirs are tales of belonging, the female condition and radicalisation.
HOAX has teamed up with playwright Lila Whelan, Emmy-nominated sound designer Lawrence Kendrick and multi-media artist Aphra Shemza to bring Shakespeare’s most thrilling creations to life in a binaural audio play and installation.
THE STAGE PLAY/
In 2016, HOAX commissioned playwright Lila Whelan to create a piece of new writing to explore the backstory of Shakespeare’s strong, violent and radical word sister’s from Macbeth. The immersive production, supported by Theatre Deli and Building BloQs, ran for 3 nights to sold-out audiences in April 2017. It was created in collaboration with Emmy-nominated sound designer Lawrence Kendrick and directed by theatre maker/video artist Rosie Jones.
